The electronic magazine on Sociology and Social Sciences Controversias y Concurrencias Latinoamericanas (Latin American Controversies and Concurrence) is a publication by the Asociación Latinoamericana de Sociología (ALAS) (Latin American Sociology Association), a regional nonprofit civil organization whose main objective is to promote, produce and disseminate scientific knowledge about Latin America and the Caribbean with autonomy regarding other scientific, political, economic, and trade associations. With this purpose, it encourages discussion and exchange among researchers, teachers, students, and academic institutions devoted to social sciences, as well as promoting communication between the sociological community and the society, with its social, political, cultural, and scientific actors.

CyCL is assessed through double-blind peer review and published electronically every six months on a Creative Commons License, Attribution 4.0 International.
