Illiteracy Campaign (1960-1961) and it´s historical contribution toward the educational development in Guantanamo, Cuba

Abstract

The present article is a result of research activity, about the Illiteracy Campaign, done by Revé Crump, L. (2016). Social-educative movement that did history in the past century, initiating a great base in the transformation of the Cuban Education and our society in Guantánamo. Due to the social importance of this team, this article aims to carry out an analysis, unpublished in majority, related to the development of this campaign, showing the social-culture situation of Guantánamo (1960), it´s distinctive particularities, as well as a synthesis of the teacher´s trajectory who participated in that process, also the educational and social contributions, as a proposal to enrich the national history, and to divulge the cultural identity of the America’s and Caribbean’s people.
